Recruiting teachers

In considering a career change, have you ever thought about becoming a school teacher? The education non-profit American Board specializes in addressing teacher shortages in high-need subjects such as math and science, and this month will conduct a community information meeting in Walhalla to counsel career-changers on the chance to become certified teachers in South Carolina. At the Walhalla Library Tuesday, February 12 and Tuesday, February 19, teacher certification specialist Katelyn Price will advise aspiring teachers on how to become certified. On both days there will be hour-long sessions at 4:30 p-m and 6:30 p-m. Those interested should register in advance at www.acte.org/drupal/teach/events.
