Relief bill moves toward vote

January 3, 2013

Once the new Congress takes its oath today, South Carolina’s Jeff Duncan and his other House colleagues are likely to face a vote on whether to approve billions of dollars in disaster aid for Northeast states devastated by Hurricane Sandy. A spokesman for S.C.’s Third District Representative says Duncan has yet to make up his mind which way he’ll vote. There are reports the disaster aid is being split into two bills, one for immediate needs and the other to cover costs to protect against future storms.
