Remembering the death of a Clemson student
A Clemson student killed in a car accident last summer had a goal to have a building on campus named for him. The parents of the late Samuel Cadden are making the wish a reality. Ken and Mary Cadden are establishing a $1.5 million gift to establish a chapel on campus in honor of their son. Sam Cadden was a 21-year old rising junior from Richmond, Virginia and was working toward a degree in financial management. He served on the finance council of St. Andrews Catholic Church in Clemson and worked at M-H Frank Men’s Shop downtown. To be located near the campus, the Samuel J. Cadden Chapel will be a place to celebrate, mediate, worship and remember.
