Reslution approved after call to order

In light of the state’s lack of money to repair roads and bridges, is it fair to prod the state legislature to fund a financial commitment to local government? It was an issue raised last night as District Two’s Wayne McCall voted against a resolution aimed to increase the county’s Local Government Fund from state government. But McCall’s comments prompted District Five’s Reg Dexter to ask who is to serve whom. Dexter warned that an outcome of the state’s inability to find funds to fix roads and bridges could be the state ceding ownership of state roads to local government and that, Dexter says, is going to hit the local taxpayers hard.
