“Roads and bridges” on Alexander’s mind

This will be a big week in the State Senate for South Carolina’s effort to repair its roads and bridges.  State Senator Thomas Alexander says he’s looking forward to hearing this afternoon from the newly-confirmed Secretary of Transportation, Christy Hall.  On Thursday, the Oconee-Pickens Republican said, he expects his chamber to do more work on a bill to address the need.  One idea is raising the gas tax while cutting the income tax.  Once their work is complete this week in the General Assembly, the Oconee Delegation has a date in Walhalla for a public  meeting with constituent, starting at 7:30 Thursday night at the Civic Auditorium.  Five people had registered to address the delegation by the sign-up deadline.
