Rockslide Closes I-40

If your holiday plans include a trip to the North Carolina or Tennessee Mountains, be aware of possible traffic delays.  The North Carolina Department of Transportation says one of the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 near the Tennessee State line is closed.  A Friday night rock slide dumped several tons of rocks onto I-40 near mile marker 7 in Waynesville.   Workers were able to clear one lane, but the other lane will be closed until next month.  Officials with the NC DOT say westbound travelers can expect delays until the road is cleared.
