Room filled for Graham special presentation

Oconee Economic Alliance measured one of its largest business forum audiences for this morning’s talk by Lindsey Graham, the U-S senator. The attendees were promised a special presentation, framed on how what happens at the federal level impacts Oconee County. The 59-year old U-S senator, who goes into the November election having been re-nominated by the Republican Party for a new term, took on issues that impact the financial stability of the county, the state, and the world. Graham began by touting potential solutions to both South Carolina and the country’s worsening roads and bridges and he ended with a rigid defense of his ideas to lessen illegal immigration in ways that’ll meet workforce needs and yet help secure the country from those who sneak in and pose a potential threat to security. Graham devoted special attention to what he sees as the potential for heightened Mideast instability—specifically countries that fall under the control of radical Islam and the prospect for Armagedon if radical Islamists acquire nuclear weapons.
