Russell Price gets a new job!

In Walhalla,  James Moore’s successor is Russell Price.  A Salem resident and the executive officer of the county Home Builders, Price was the selection today as the Walhalla’s new director of public works.  Price’s first day will be tomorrow and, according to Councilman David Underwood, will vacate his job with the Home Builders Association of Oconee.  Price succeeds James Moore, who retired.  The city council took the action in a special morning meeting at City Hall.  Underwood, chairman of the public works committee, said four applicants were interviewed, but Price was preferred partly because of the work he did last year to help Walhalla rehabilitate its public swimming pool.  According to Nancy Goehle, the new public works director will earn a salary in the range between $45 and $49 thousand dollars a year.
