Salem adopts a logo!

Salem has adopted a logo, to be displayed on the elevated Stamp Creek Road water tower. The mayor and the council members last night got some suggestions from the eight scouts in attendance at the council’s regular January meeting as to which of four logos to adopt. The choice in the end resembles Salem’s welcome to town sign which depicts mountain scenery and an eagle in flight. Salem’s Boy and Girl Scouts  have agreed to develop and maintain an organic garden, from which fresh produce will be available free of charge this spring and summer to members of the community. The mayor and council also voted to contribute $200 to School Resource Officer Norman Dukes’ walk across the state this year, as a fundraiser for the local high school.
