Salem and Little to treat Marines

Everyone has invitation for tonight’s 7 to 9 o’clock Veterans Appreciation Night at Seneca’s Gigniliat Field. As a tuneup to that event, live reports from Gignilliat will air on 96.3/WGOG from 5 until 7. All veterans are welcome. The assemblage will include those visiting 40 injured Marines from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. They are on rest-and-relaxation this week in Oconee County, as special guests of the Lake Keowee community. Tomorrow will be Salem’s chance to honor the Marines. Kim Alexander, clerk-treasurer, says it’ll begin with a breakfast and then a “slow float” down the slow-moving Little River—one of Oconee’s popular outdoor recreation attractions.
