Salem’s Danielle Queen turns calculations into creations

Danielle Queen A 2014 graduate of Tamassee-Salem High School, Danielle Queen, thinks it’s cool to see her mathematical calculations turn into creations. As one of two females in her Machine Tool classes at Hamilton Career Center last year, she and her classmates studied specifications and drawings, calculated dimensions and tolerances, and measured, set up, and manufactured projects. Danielle maintained a straight A for the past two and a half years. She started off in biomedical classes at the career center, but an F and disinterest in the subject led her to a conversation with her guidance counselor. In her senior year, she decided she would enroll at Tri-County Technical College and major in the Machine Tool Technology curriculum.
