Salvage operations continue Presbyterian Church

September 17, 2013

Community volunteers are joining Walhalla Presbyterians today in salvage operations at the fire-damaged church at E. Main and S. Johnson streets. State Senator Thomas Alexander, who is acting as a spokesman for his church, says, “We are moving forward.” In the meantime, the investigation to pinpoint the fire cause remains open and church leaders.  Fire Chief Doug Kelley says insurance investigators are to be at the scene today. At some point, will approach the decision of whether to rebuild the church at its location. This morning they were concentrating on the church activity center, which sits at the back end of the property attached to the sanctuary. That building, Alexander said, avoided fire damage, but not damage from the water used to stop Saturday’s fire.
