Sandifer part of conference committee duty

An Oconee state lawmaker is part of a six-member conference committee trying for compromise over whether a California app-based ride-sharing service should remain available to South Carolinians and tourists. Rep. Bill Sandifer, Seneca Republican, was on his way back to Columbia yesterday to take up Uber’s temporary license granted by the state Public Service Commission. At issue is how the state should regulate a ride-hailing service to Charleston, Myrtle Beach, and other destination cities.
