School food drive surpasses last year’s

 The annual food drive at Keowee Elementary, hosted by the Service Learning Club, exceeded last year’s. Finishing on Friday, November 14, students collected 1,532 food items and $152 dollars cash to be donated to the food pantry operated by Walhalla’s St. Luke United Methodist Church. Service Learning Club members and their parents helped pack boxes for the pantry. The students had set a goal of beating last year’s record, and they did it by 24 items.
