School food prices for a new year

Oconee public schools are out with a reminder that school meals are an option for students once the new year starts next week on Tuesday, August 18.  The school district is participating in the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program.  All registered students are eligible to participate and are awarded benefits based on family size and income.  A completed application must be returned to a child’s school or the Food Service office.  Applications are available online at www.heartlandapps.com.  For those eligible, the cost of a reduced breakfast and lunch is set as low as 30 or 40 cents.
