Incidents at two Oconee County schools brought out deputies and other emergency responders. During the lunch hour, an accident occurred at Tamassee-Salem High School involving a student returning from an off-campus lunch trip with her younger sister. The vehicle accidentally ran over the student’s leg, requiring a trip to the hospital for that student for an X-ray and other attention. Jimmy Watt, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Department, said no charges were made. Across the county, at Oakway Intermediate School no one was hurt in what may have been BB gun fire on property at the back of that school. The Sheriff’s Department investigated that incident also, and we’ll have further details on the late afternoon news.
