Scott calls for an up-or-down vote

U-S Senator Tim Scott wants Washington to act on the SKILLS legislation that would reform the government’s workforce development and training programs. After President Obama declared support for high-quality workforce training during this week’s State of the Union address, Republican Scott called on the President and Democratic Senate leaders to seek an up-or-down vote on the SKILLS Act. It’s legislation aimed at helping low-income workers, individuals with disabilities looking for work, and at-risk youngsters. One version of the bill passed in the House of Representatives.
