Scott connects with Keowee students

A ring tone on a class computer last week signaled that a U-S senator wanted to talk to students at the Keowee Elementary School.  Students in Christie Moore’s 5th grade gifted and talented class awaited a connection using Skype for a conversation with Senator Tim Scott.  It began with a wave and a smile from Scott.  After saying hello, Scott congratulated the school for being one of the highest scoring elementary schools in the state. “That means,” he said, “your school is preparing leaders for tomorrow, including those who will be good teachers, like Ms. Moore.”  The students took turns asking questions, starting with requests for information about Scott’s story.
