Scott Sprouse report available for public viewing

The state’s Judicial Merit Selection Commission report on the qualifications of Seneca attorney Scott Sprouse to ascend to a 10th Circuit judgeship is now posted on the commission’s website and is available for viewing. The report covers eight pages and includes Sprouse’s listing of what he considers to have been his five most significant litigated matters in a law career that started in 1989. Sprouse is 49 years old. The commissioners who evaluate the fitness of judicial candidates found Sprouse qualified and have nominated him to succeed the retiring Alex Macaulay on January 1. Sprouse, unopposed for the seat, may on Tuesday next week to begin to seek pledges and commitments from the members of the South Carolina legislature. The state lawmakers are scheduled to vote on Sprouse’s nomination May 28.
