Security strengthened at Death Valley

The list of items that football fans may take into Clemson’s Death Valley got wider today with an announcement by the campus police. The police have added coolers, briefcases, luggage, computer bags and camera bags to the list of items already prohibited inside Memorial Stadium on game days. The policy, adopted after the 9-11 attacks, already prohibited backpacks, tote bags, brown paper bags and other large carryall-type bags. Large chair backs are also restricted. But Clemson will still allow pass-outs this season, which means fans can leave the stadium and be re-admitted at designated entrances. But they will have to go through the same level of screening as they did originally entering the stadium.
