Senate OKs the Keystone XL pipeline

After Senate action yesterday, the bill to authorize the Keystone XL pipeline is on the way to the desk of President Obama, and South Carolina’s U-S senators are calling for the President to sign it. Both Tim Scott and Lindsey Graham voted to support the pipeline and say the issue is jobs and energy independence. Scott said, “The hardworking employees of MTU America in Graniteville and Michelin in the Upstate are already contributing to the Keystone project, and would certainly benefit even more from the pipeline’s construction.” Graham said, “I was one of the first members of the United States Senate to visit Canada oil sands to see first-hand how this resource could benefit our country.”
