Seneca files motion in Haynes’ case

Seneca moved in the Common Pleas Court yesterday for the appointment of a receiver to carry out a judgment against the owner of a downtown building that the city regards as a danger.  City attorneys say their motion is supported by the rules of civil procedure.  And they argue that there has been proper service of an order issued last summer by Municipal Judge Danny Singleton and that Haynes has failed to comply with the municipal judge’s order imposing criminal fines.  The building in question occupied about one-half block downtown between Main and North First streets, bordered by Depot and Townville.   The motion to appoint the receiver states that as the result of five previous court orders, the defendant was found guilty of 1,074 contempt of court offenses.
