Seneca hosting softball this weekend

The City of Seneca is hosting the Dixie Softball State Tournament, which gets underway this weekend at the Shaver Recreation Complex. The tournament winner will represent the state at the World Series in Louisiana in August. Opening festivities are Friday, while play begins on Saturday.

In American Legion play, Walhalla’s Post 124 defeated Lancaster 14-3 to remain alive in the playoffs by forcing a game 5. Walhalla’s Zach Biggers tallied four hits and three RBI. The deciding game is Friday night at 6:30 PM in Lancaster.
