Seneca makes the switch!

Sept 3, 2014 012  Long-awaited electric bus passenger service debuted today in Seneca, in time to give the Oconee County municipality a national distinction. The launch of three of the buses makes Seneca the first city in the country to switch from gas-diesel buses to electric buses, according to Ed Halbig. The distinction of the first electric bus rider fell to a sixth grader, D-J Sanford, accompanied by his father. Like their gas-diesel counterparts, these electric buses run at no charge to the riding public, and Halbig urges everyone to become regular passengers and leave the driving to the pros who man the wheels for “CAT”—Clemson Area Transit.
