Seneca man arrested on drug conspiracy charge

Oconee Sheriff’s Office arrested a Seneca man late Sunday afternoon on the charge of drug conspiracy. Howard Eugene Johnson, 47 years old, of Sirrine Street, was booked into the Oconee Detention Center. Around November 12, narcotics agents began an investigation into the purchase of Pseudophedrine by Johnson beyond the legal limit. Pseudophedrine is a common ingredient in the making of methamphetamine and, according to law, only nine grams can be purchased in a 30-day period. The investigation alleges Johnson was blocked from buying around 16 grams between November 12 and 21 from five pharmacies in the Seneca area.
