Seneca’s 2012 Christmas parade rolls through the downtown at 6 o’clock tonight. This year’s theme is “A Heroic Christmas — Honoring Oconee County’s Heroes.” Leading the parade in the Lunney Museum horse-drawn carriage will be Second World War Two veteran Jimmy Greene Jr. and Korea War veteran Harry Jones. The Oconee Chamber of Commerce has arranged a parade of more than 70 entries from businesses, churches, organizations and pageant winners, along with the Seneca High marching band. Here’s the parade route: from the corner of S. Oak and E.S. 4th toward downtown by N. 1st Street, to Walnut, to Main, and finishing on Ramcat Alley. At 5:30, the city of Seneca will light the Norton-Thompson Park Christmas lights.
