Seneca prepares for its electric buses

Seneca’s planning and community development director gave the city council last night an updated schedule for the delivery of the city’s fleet of electric-powered passenger buses. In the meantime, three locations in and around the city are being prepared as re-charging stations. According to Ed Halbig, one bus is being painted. A second bus is ready to be painted. A third bus is ready to come off the production line. A fourth is scheduled to be put together. And, as for the three locations where the buses get juiced up to run their routes, Halbig said, “A steel contractor is building the frames….The grading contractor has been out at Pro Pex today basically getting ready to put the driveway in.” It’s in the former Pro Pex plant building where the buses will be housed.
