Seneca takes steps to create new museum

IMGSeneca has begun steps to create a second museum—on the grounds of its other museum, the Lunney Museum. The new museum, to be named for Martha Strickland, will help recognize the city’s African-American history. A sketch of what it could look like was provided the mayor and council during a special meeting last night at City Hall. City Administrator Greg Dietterick says plans are still preliminary, but there’s enthusiastic talk in the community. Dietterick would like Mayor Dan Alexander to be prepared during the regular November meeting to appoint a committee to plan the museum.
