Seneca to buy new tractor

The vehicle that Seneca relied on for picking up discarded brush placed at the city’s curbs has been lost to a fire. “It caught fire,” said Mark Krabbe, director of public works, during last night’s City Hall meetings. Krabbe believes the bucket component from the burn vehicle can be salvaged from the tractor and used on the replacement vehicle. According to Joel Seavey, city finance director, insurance will pay Seneca $18 thousand for the loss of what was a 13-year old vehicle. A replacement tractor may cost $80 thousand.
