Seneca to showcase industrial park

Plans are in the works for Seneca to showcase its industrial park project off Shiloh Road—the former Pro Pex manufacturing plant. And it is to stage a ceremony featuring two top-level federal officials. City Administrator Greg Dietterick announced last night that arrangements are being attempted to land Senator Lindsey Graham and U-S Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx as the ceremony speakers. Mayor Dan Alexander says it’s to be an opportunity for his city to show others the good that can come when an old building is put to a new use. The mayor made an indirect reference to employers who’ve taken up space there. Dietterick announced that an occupancy permit approved by Oconee County will officially allow the building to be used to store the city’s electric buses when they are idle. The city administrator said Rock Hill city leaders will visit Seneca January 30 to ride the electric buses, as part of their consideration of placing an order for electric buses for their city.
