Seneca woman arrested on child abuse charges

A Seneca woman faces a bond hearing this afternoon, as the result of her arrest in a three-month investigation. Chief John Covington says Mattie Brooks, arrested this morning on South Walnut Street, is accused of unlawful conduct toward a child and criminal sexual conduct first degree. According to Covington, investigator Mike Terramano has put together a case that alleges the 58-year old Brooks confined a child to a dog house and storage buildings for a long period of time and inflicted bodily harm.
