Senecan new leader of SC Academy of Family Physicians

A family physician from Seneca, Dr. Ed Evans, has assumed the role of president of the South Carolina Academy of Family Physicians (SCAFP). His installation as president was held during academy events last month on Hilton Head Island. Evans was elected president-elect in June 2015 by the general membership.  The academy represents 1,820 family physicians and medical students statewide. In his role, he will advocate on behalf of family physicians and patients to inspire positive advances in the state’s health care system. Evans has been a practicing family physician for more than 25 years. Initially practicing in Georgia, Evans is currently in private practice, including operative obstetrics, with Seneca Medical Associates. Evans also directs the Seneca Lakes Residency Program, sponsored by the Oconee Memorial Hospital and by the AnMed Family Medicine Residency.
