Seneca’s Skyline is Changing

Seneca’s skyline is definitely changing. It would be nearly impossible not to notice the new Hampton Inn & Suites on Seneca’s East North 1st Street.  Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander says he rides by the site quite a bit and its definitely on schedule because the workers are working weekends.  The goal is for the new hotel to open for the first Clemson Football game this fall.  Mayor Alexander says he feels new 4 story 100 room hotel will have a positive affect on everything around it and he’s hopeful for future developments.  The new hotel will create 38 new permanent hotel jobs. The City of Seneca has another major employment project underway in the Propex property, which it purchased with the county. Mayor Alexander says there are a couple of hundred thousand square feet in the building and some office space which is not being used. Both the city and county hope to announce in the coming months that a new tenant is moving to the Propex property.
