Sewer overflow at Clemson

August 27, 2012

A sewer overflow lasting one hour occurred Friday morning in Clemson, on Cambridge Drive. According to a notification from the city of Clemson, the overflow amounted to about one thousand gallons the result of a sewer main washed out by heavy rain. Although a utilities crew responded, the overflow reached an un-named creek. The creek passes though Ashley Estates, Monaco Estates, Camelot, and Patrick Square. The city recommends staying clear of the creek for this week to allow the area to return to its natural state. For flushing purposes, the utilities crew is using two fire hydrants flowing into the creek.
