There’s still moonshine to be had in Oconee County, even in these contemporary times. But it was the law that had the shine after a raid late yesterday afternoon. While investigating a complaint, a state DNR officer found a still in plain view outside a storage building. Several mason jars were filled with a clear liquid beside a 55-gallon drum. And Jimmy Watt, spokesman for the Oconee Sheriff’s Office, said they also found ingredients for making moonshine. An arrest is said to be pending.
