Six arrests in sex assault on a 15-year old

Six arrests are reported this afternoon in a case of a sexual assault on a 15-year old at a home near Seneca. The Oconee Sheriff’s Office identifies two of the arrested as young adults and four others as juveniles—one of whom is 15 and three others who are 16. According to the Sheriff’s Office announcement, the West-Oak High resource officer following a volleyball game Monday received anonymous information about a party Saturday night and early Sunday at a home on Rodges Road. Those arrested are Brandon Peralta, 17, charged with third degree criminal sexual conduct; and Tyler Joseph Normandin, 18, charged with solicitation to commit a felony. According to the announcement, the allegation against Normandin alleges the defendant “with the intent that another commit a crime, did entice, advises, invite, order or otherwise encourage others to commit the felony act of criminal sexual conduct upon a 15-year old victim while said victim was mentally incapacitated or physically helpless.” The allegations against the juveniles include criminal sexual conduct third degree, criminal sexual conduct with a minor second degree, and criminal sexual conduct with a minor third degree. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the investigation continues.
