SLED chopper spots marijuana near Westminster

Drug 1 Robert Edward LandersFrom the sky above Oconee County, a state police helicopter zeroed in on marijuana plants near Westminster, behind an outbuilding on the Greenfield Road. That resulted in the arrest of Robert Edward Landers, 45, of 112 Greenfield Road, on the charge of manufacturing marijuana. County narcotics officers, working with agents from the State Law Enforcement Division, were conducting marijuana eradication operations in Oconee County. Authorities say Landers was taken into custody yesterday afternoon and jailed in Walhalla. The Oconee Sheriff’s Office estimates the value of the marijuana seized at $6 thousand.
