Slight uptick in Oconee’s jobless rate

On a day when State Representative Sandifer commented on the need to address job creation and for public school students to learn skills required by employers, the state is reporting that Oconee’s unemployment picture slightly worsened in November. The rate of joblessness in Oconee rose from October’s 6.3% to November’s 6.4% of the available labor force. Still that’s better than November a year ago when the county’s jobless rate stood at nearly 7%.
