Nearly 4,000 smallmouth bass were stocked Wednesday in Lake Jocassee at the Devil’s Fork State Park. As it did during a similar stocking last week at the Oconee State Park, the DNR used a specially-equipped fish-hauling truck to stock 3,750 smallmouth bass in Jocassee. The fish were produced at the Cheraw State Fish Hatchery. On hand for the stocking were two state lawmakers from Pickens County—Senator Larry Martin and Representative Davey Hiott. Martin said, “There is no prettier place to go fishing than Lake Jocassee, surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains.
