So far, power companies hold their own!

We’ve had no reports of power outages in Oconee County. Duke Energy reported a handful of outages in Anderson County. At last report, Blue Ridge Electric Co-Op had experienced no loss of customer service in its multi-county service district. And Bob Faires of Seneca Light and Water reports, so far, all is good–meaning Seneca’s electric power customers are staying warm and comfortable. A 96.3/WGOG staff member was inside a Walhalla business today, where the lights flickered temporarily. Not everyone takes this business of snow and ice with the highest seriousness. Clemson canceled classes today, and we hear that several people have gone sledding at the campus’s Lake Hartwell dike.
