South Carolina agriculture on the move, Weather says

In a talk at Florence, the South Carolina agriculture commissioner said the industry is going in the right direction and with more promise than before. Hugh Weathers spoke last week at the South Carolina AgriBiz and Farm Expo which served as a fundraiser for the South Carolina Commissioner’s School for Agriculture at Clemson University. Combined with a silent auction, the breakfast raised more than $8 thousand dollars for the school. The school seeks to offer challenging summer programs to 11th and 12th grade students. Another event speaker, Katie Black, emphasized the strides that the Commissioner’s School has made in recent years. Black serves as student recruitment director.
