South Carolina v. Campbell tops trial docket

Charges that arose from a home fire last winter top the docket for next week’s term of Oconee General Sessions Court.  The Office of 10th Circuit Solicitor plans to call for trial the case against Walhalla resident Joshua Charles Campbell.  The defendant is accused of arson third degree and attempted murder, nine counts, as the result of a January 16 fire on Forest Drive near Seneca.  After Campbell’s arrest, Sheriff’s Captain Greg Reed released a statement which said, “…At the time of the fire there were nine individuals in the home, a child in the home awoke to the smell of smoke at which time she was able to alert the other residents and everyone inside the home.  During the investigation the fire was determined to be arson….”
