Spay/neuter program works

Oconee County Council members are being told that their funding means success to the Humane Society’s low income spay/neuter assistance program.  Using county funding, the Humane Society relies on volunteers and paid staff to carry out the program.  A report provided a council committee shows spay/neuter has resulted in 29% fewer intakes and a 60% increase in adoptions at the Animal Shelter near Seneca.  Besides intakes and adoptions, the shelter also returns pet cats and dogs to their owners and transfers other pets to animal rescue services.
