Special meeting next week!

The commissioners representing Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority are being called into a special meeting one week from tonight for a discussion of contract matters as they relate to their revenue sharing agreement with the county.  Over the years, commissioners and county council members have bickered over whether the county should continue to make a $610 thousand annual payment to the JRSA.  According to the meeting announcement next week’s meeting, at 6 o’clock Monday evening, August 17 at the JRSA office, is planned as an executive session.  There have been hints in recent months that the JRSA might initiate legal proceedings in an attempt to secure the $610 thousand dollar payments.
