Special Needs “wait list” shrinks

In last week’s meeting with Oconee County Council, State Senator Thomas Alexander used mental health and special needs as examples of two agencies that took a big hit in recent years when state government found its revenues falling. Jerry Mize, director of the Tribble Activity Center near Seneca, acknowledges the plight faced by his agency, as well as others, but some recovery has been made. Since July, he said, the Tribble Center has reduced its day-service waiting list by 12 to 14 clients.
