Special visitor to arrive at river tonight!

A commercial outfitter at the Chattooga River awaits the arrival today of Charley Boorman, son of John Boorman who directed the movie Deliverance. But the rainy weather is no friend of the British TV adventurer who plans a documentary on the wild and scenic river to tie in with the memories of the major motion picture from the early 70s. Word we’re getting from Wildwater Ltd. at Long Creek is that the violent water levels, as has been described, will prevent the Boorman canoe from setting in the river tonight. Instead, he’ll have to wait until tomorrow, according to Ken Sloan, the Mountain Lakes CVB director who is helping facilitate the visit of Boorman and his camera crew.
