Spending matters await OCC action

Big-ticket spending items await action during next week’s meeting of the Oconee County Council. County staff recommends the approval of a second, 5-year renewal of a deal to haul waste to a transfer station at a landfill in Homer, Georgia. The contract amount to be paid Waste Management is estimated at $1.1 million. And the Volunteer Picket Post/Camp Oak Fire Department is in line for a pumper truck at a cost of nearly $419 thousand.
