Split verdict by Oconee jury

A 22-year old Townville man has been found guilty on three of five charges.  The judge’s sentence sends Robert Jeffrey Hughes to prison for five years, followed by five years probation.  The Oconee jury found Hughes guilty of failure to stop for a blue light, possession of a stolen vehicle, and a lesser charge of malicious injury to property.  He was found not guilty of unlawful carrying a pistol and resisting arrest with a deadly weapon. During the trial, Judge Sprouse dismissed a fifth charge–driving under suspension.
