HS: Daniel Outlasts West-Oak 02/04/2012 In high school basketball on Friday night, the Daniel Lions win a fifth straight Western AAA title with a 66-55 win over West-Oak in boys action. Elsewhere, Seneca defeated Belton-Honea Path 66-61. Thomas Brown led the Bobcats with 18 points. Seneca wraps up the regular season at West-Oak on Tuesday. Walhalla's boys downed Pickens 75-61 with 31 points from Dillon Bender. Walhalla will host Belton-Honea Path on Tuesday for a chance at the playoffs. On the girls side, Daniel defeats West-Oak 61-38. Seneca's Lady Cats defeat BHP 55-43. Ciara Boggs had 15 points. Walhalla's girls were winners over Pickens 48-29 behind 14 points from Molly Saxon. FOOTBALL: Furman Football Signs 17 To National Letters Of Intent 02/01/2012 Furman head coach Bruce Fowler today announced the signing of 17 recruits to national letters of intent. The Paladins' recruiting class, which features eight defensive players, seven offensive performers, and two specialists, includes six recruits from South Carolina, five from Georgia, four from North Carolina, and one from both Tennessee and Florida.
