As the noon hour closed today, only one candidate had filed to succeed the retiring Judge Alex Macaulay of West Union. Seneca Attorney Scott Sprouse is the only candidate who has filed with the State Judicial Merit Selection Commission. The deadline to file was Noon Monday, and Sprouse was the only candidate to file for the 10th Judicial Circuit, Seat 2. The Judicial Merit Selection Commission will begin Public Hearings on Monday April 28 at 9 am regarding judicial candidates. The other judicial positions, Court of Appeals Seat 7, 16th Judicial Circuit Seat 2, and 11th Judicial Circuit Seat 1 of Family Court will be part of that April 28th hearing.
